StreetLib has signed a global agreement with Spotify for the audiobook distribution: titles from its publishers' will now be available on one of the world’s largest listening platforms.
The timing couldn't be better. In three years, Spotify's audiobook catalog in Premium markets has grown from 150,000 to over 800,000 titles, and between September 2025 and September 2026, monthly listeners have increased by almost 40% year on year. .
A new audience for StreetLib publishers
Joining Spotify represents an additional opportunity for StreetLib publishers to bring their audiobooks beyond traditional distribution channels, and reach an audience used to discovering and consuming audio content within a single ecosystem.
Depending on the market, Spotify users can access audiobooks in different ways. Premium plans include a selection of listening hours; additional options are also available, such as Audiobooks+, the add-on that allows users to purchase additional listening hours beyond those included in the Premium subscription, and the option to purchase individual titles.
This is a particularly relevant element in a market where audiobook growth isn’t just about the number of available titles, but also about the platforms’ ability to facilitate discovery through recommendations, charts, personalization tools, and integration across different content types.
On Spotify, for example, an author's presence on a podcast can become an opportunity to discover their audiobook: the platform can suggest the title on the show’s page and on the playback screen. Podcasts and audiobooks thus connect and help create new discovery paths for publishing content.
Global distribution and new opportunities
One of the most important aspects of the agreement is its international scope.
StreetLib audiobooks will be distributed in markets where the service is already available, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland, as well as several Western and Northern European countries and select Middle Eastern and African markets.
The agreement also allows publishers to prepare for the international expansion of the service: when Spotify enters new markets, StreetLib catalogs can be included in the distribution.
A new piece in StreetLib distribution
For StreetLib, the agreement with Spotify represents another step toward an increasingly global distribution model, where technology and a partner network allow publishers to reach new audiences without increasing operational complexity.
Because today, distributing a book also means making it available in the places where readers search for it, discover it, and, increasingly, listen to it.
