StreetLib is thrilled to announce our new partnership with Bookshop.org, the platform that supports independent bookstores. With the recent launch of Bookshop.org’s eBook platform, readers can now purchase digital books while continuing to support local bookstores—offering a unique alternative in the online book market.
Founded by Andy Hunter and launched in January 2020, Bookshop.org quickly became a vital resource for independent bookstores, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since its launch, the platform has raised over $36 million for independent booksellers.
Its impact extends even further. The American Booksellers Association (ABA) endorsed Bookshop.org in 2019, and in 2023, it made Bookshop.org its official consumer-facing platform for online book sales and fulfillment. Today, 70% of ABA member bookstores are on Bookshop.org, reinforcing its role as a key player in the industry.
By adding Bookshop.org to our digital distribution network, StreetLib is expanding opportunities for authors and publishers to reach engaged readers who value independent bookstores. This partnership aligns with our mission to provide wide and innovative distribution solutions for the publishing industry.
We’re thrilled to support a platform that not only enhances book discovery but also strengthens the independent bookselling ecosystem. Stay tuned for more updates on how StreetLib continues to open new doors for publishers worldwide.
